Uninstall

Turn off desktop sharing, remove Ophio from your computer and phone, and decide what happens to its data.

Ophio isn’t released yet. These docs describe the development version; app downloads are not available.

Finish or stop running work first and confirm it stopped in the task receipt. Check unresolved helpers and outside processes at the computer. Uninstalling does not undo files, commands or external work.

On Linux this also forgets portal consent. If a device may be compromised, revoke it first.

Remove from Linux

ophio service uninstall

This stops the service and removes autostart. If you started ophio run yourself or added it to your desktop’s autostart, stop or remove that too.

The programs are in ~/.local/opt/ophio/bin, linked from ~/.local/bin/ophio. Check the link still points there before removing them. The installation can also contain the Android APK and licence material. Notification icons are installed under ~/.local/share/icons/hicolor/*/apps/ophio.* (or your configured XDG data directory); inspect and remove only Ophio’s files, never the shared icon theme. The Linux package instructions list the removal commands.

Remove from Windows

.\ophio.exe service uninstall

Then stop Ophio and delete the folder you extracted it to.

Your data

Removing only the programs keeps pairings, identity, history and settings. A later install can use them again.

After stopping Ophio, inspect the data-cleanup dry run:

ophio uninstall-data

Without --yes, this only names the folders it would clean. It refuses while Ophio is running. Back up anything you need and read ophio uninstall-data --help before choosing ophio uninstall-data --yes.

Confirmed cleanup removes Ophio’s configuration and data, including identity, pairings, history and downloaded managed agent copies. It keeps the system’s Claude Code and Codex installations, project folders, Library folders, received files and native agents’ sign-ins. It also leaves the desktop portal’s separate sharing-approval record alone.

Service-account cleanup attempts sign-out or revocation and reports remaining provider actions. A local cleanup report is not proof that a provider revoked an escaped credential. Follow Accounts and the provider’s own controls.

Under Settings → Device data, Export device data saves Talk and annotation draft text, source metadata and voice preferences. It excludes image/video bytes and access credentials, so it is not a complete app backup. Clear sent drafts removes only unchanged sent annotation drafts and their local sources after confirmation. Pending revisions, unsent drafts and computer copies remain.

Uninstalling Android can delete local drafts and data. It does not revoke the phone’s computer access. Revoke there first if you are ending access.
