Annotation prepares pictures, comments and reproduction steps for a task message. Draft sources stay on this device until review. Capture and import do not send a message.
Choose a source
Use Message tools → Mark up a screenshot in Talk, open a picture through Draw on it, or start a correction with Not quite in a task receipt. A shared image in Capture inbox also offers Annotate. In Annotate, Add source offers:
- Capture the computer: choose a currently available display, window or browser target. This requires a connection and capture permission.
- Images from this device: import one or more pictures. They are added in the order you choose them, up to 16 images per message, and marking starts on the first. Images past the limit, or ones that could not be read, are named in a note under the sources; the rest are kept.
- Clip: import a video, choose frames and trim it for review.
A private preview’s camera button also creates a local capture, and Annotate opens its markup workflow. Agent pictures and videos are listed together under Pictures and videos in Talk’s task-title menu. Check the task before responding.
Draw and comment
Draft mode offers Annotate and Steps. The mark tools are Pen, Box, Ellipse, Arrow, Pin, Select / move and Pan. Select the correct source before drawing.
Use Undo to reverse supported draft changes. Deleting a mark makes its linked comments unresolved. Undo restores the same mark and its links. Resolve those comments before sending; do not leave them attached to a missing target.
Comment entry offers Type or Speak. Enter What should change? for the selected marks. General note adds context without claiming a specific mark. Review speech transcripts and later suggestions before accepting them. A spoken phrase is not reliable evidence of which mark you intended.
For dictation, Settings → Voice has Language preference and Keep audio on the computer. Audio retention is off by default. Retained annotation audio is separate from the task request; review sends text and images. This differs from voice-control sessions, which do not retain audio.
Video feedback and reproduction steps
Talk over it opens feedback for an agent video. Comments can refer to its frame and time. If frame capture fails, the comment remains general rather than claiming an image or timestamp it did not capture.
In Steps, arrange images and descriptions in order. Add step from image adds a step. Fill Expected and Actual to distinguish the intended result from what you observed. For a clip, Range start (seconds) and Range end (seconds) select a valid portion. Review the entire trimmed clip, not just one frame.
Reproduction review shows the included images and steps. A step referencing an excluded or missing image needs another included image or removal. A clip can be sent separately as a file where supported; Save clip on this device keeps a local copy. Clip processing may fail on the device. Use screenshots instead provides an alternative.
Review and send
Tap Review and send. Check the computer, project, task, included sources, comments and complete images or clips. Review whether this continues a task or starts new work. Confirm the final task or message action only after checking it.
A layout-change warning means the captured context changed. Inspect the source instead of assuming a mark still points to the intended control. Returning from annotation keeps the draft where storage succeeds. Read any local-storage error before leaving.
Uploading media and delivering a message are separate steps. Check the reported delivery state. Do not duplicate a message whose outcome is unknown. Media already attached to a sent message cannot be removed from that message.
Privacy
The whole image or included clip is shared, not just its marks. Notifications, names, background windows and credentials may be visible. Review everything before sending. The agent may send the material to its model provider.
Use sample data for demonstrations. Avoid capturing sensitive windows. Annotation is not automatic redaction and does not prove that the requested correction was made.
