A message continues the selected task. A new task is separate work. Check the task name above Talk before sending.
Talk opens as a full-screen conversation without the bottom tabs. Work goes back; the task title opens the task selector, New task, All tasks and Next up, Pictures and videos, Instructions and What happened in this task. The current task’s Stop stays in the header. The activity row opens controls for other running tasks and displays.
Message tools beside the composer holds markup, agent/model/effort, Start from, plan execution and How to send where available. Sending a new request opens Review. Continuing an existing task follows its selected send mode; check which task and mode you are using.
Send during a run
While a task is running, the review offers three ways to deliver a message:
- Steer now sends a correction that the agent reads while it works. This is available for Codex. Claude Code accepts messages but does not confirm whether they change the current turn, so Ophio shows Steer now as unavailable for it.
- After this turn holds the message until the current turn ends. This works with both agents.
- Stop the turn and send first stops the turn, then sends the reviewed message. Its button reads Stop and send.
Steer now is also unavailable while the task is waiting for your approval or answer. Answer the request first, or send after this turn. Stopping does not undo work already done. A held message is not a separate queued task. The conversation reports whether it is waiting, accepted by the computer or delivered to the agent.
If the connection is lost, check the same request before retrying. Do not send a second copy when delivery is unconfirmed. Stop can withdraw messages that have not yet been delivered.
Queue separate tasks
For a new request, choose Add to Next up in review. When its turn comes offers Ask me first or Start by itself. The ordinary automatic-start permission expires after 30 minutes. GitHub finder-created fixes have their separate one-day rule.
Next up keeps each request, agent, saved launch policy, branch and launcher instructions. Review inherited choices before adding it. Only one coding writer holds a project at a time. Read-only work can run beside it.
Open Work → Running → Next up, or All tasks and Next up from Talk’s task-title menu, to review the queue. Pause queue prevents later tasks from starting; the current task continues. Resume queue permits eligible queued work to start again. A paused or blocked queue is not evidence that a running task stopped.
Use Move up and Move down to reorder an unstarted item. Dependencies selects earlier tasks it must wait for. A move that puts it before a dependency is refused. Save dependencies saves the selection. Editing or reordering revokes earlier permission to start automatically.
Start permission lets you choose Ask before starting or Allow this item to start by itself. Automatic permission lasts 30 minutes and covers one start. The item still waits for its dependencies and the project’s writer slot.
Remove… opens Remove from Next up. The confirmation includes the task title, for example Remove Add tests. Removing a queued item keeps its task history.
Respond to an agent’s picture or video
Coding Work agents can present project pictures and videos, share a loopback preview and invite you to capture, watch or send files. These invitations do not block the agent. Your response arrives as a later task message.
- Draw on it opens a picture for marks and comments.
- Talk over it opens video feedback. Comments can refer to a captured frame and time. If a frame cannot be captured, the comment stays general rather than being attached to a false timestamp.
- Watch the computer, Capture the screen and Send files let you choose what to provide. The agent should not capture your real desktop for you.
Use screen markup to review pictures, comments and clips before sending. Ask, Plan and the computer-use specialist do not receive these person-collaboration tools.
Pictures and videos in Talk’s task-title menu lists media newest first. It distinguishes agent-provided media from your captures and uploads. Open an item to view or respond. A picture already attached to a sent message cannot be deleted from that message.
Agent-provided media must remain inside the project and pass file checks. Individual media is limited to 20 MiB. Symlink escapes are refused. These limits do not certify the media’s contents as safe or correct.
Review a result
Open What happened in this task from the task selector. Task receipt includes the result, messages, steps, changed files, checks and any stop outcome. Older task and run records load from the computer when available.
Pay attention to provenance. An agent-reported check, a command observed on the computer and an inferred result are different evidence. A missing check is not a pass. A recorded diff may be truncated, and the file may have changed since the run.
Looks right records your review on this device. It does not change the task’s outcome or prove the result. Not quite creates a correction draft. Retest adds a request to the receipt’s composer; it does not send it immediately. Sending from that composer continues the same task in Talk.
Opening a receipt clears completion attention when the computer confirms it. It does not answer approvals or verify the work. Unread result markers are tracked per project; the project selector also marks other projects with unread results.
Check Still running / unknown before starting dependent work. Helpers checked records your own check of unresolved helpers. It is not computer verification. If reconciliation is required, check the actual computer state before recording a decision.
Keep something for later
Make reusable… opens an editable instruction preview. Save it in a writable Drafts folder, then review it in Library. Saving a draft does not activate it.
Portable brief
Portable brief… opens Portable brief with an editable Brief Markdown summary. Check its contents and evidence. Edits stay on this device where local storage succeeds. Save to device exports a Markdown file. Regenerate… replaces the summary only after you choose Replace edited brief; Keep edits preserves your changes.
Choose destination opens New task from brief. Select Destination project and Destination agent, then Review new task. This saves a local Work draft and opens ordinary task review. It does not start the task. Review its permissions and instructions before starting.
The destination uses a fresh native conversation. It does not receive the source task’s live session or authority. The source task remains in history. A busy project, ineligible agent, missing task permission or failed local save can block the handoff. If another new-task draft already exists, Open saved draft lets you inspect it without overwriting it.
Preview and computer context
A shared project preview appears under Control → Previews. On Linux, Ophio can also discover local HTML servers belonging to registered projects. See Desktop control for discovery, capture and stale-server limits.
Control → Screens → System shows computer readings with Watch desktop permission. Readings are fetched while the view is visible. Short process names are shown, not full command lines. System readings are not task completion evidence.
