Ophio connects your Android phone to the agents and tools on your computer. Claude Code and Codex run there using your accounts. The phone starts tasks, answers questions, reviews results and provides desktop, terminal and file controls where permitted.
What you need
- An ARM64 Android phone or tablet.
- An x86_64 Linux computer. Android and Linux come first, subject to physical-device qualification. Windows has partial virtual-machine evidence but is not physically qualified for the initial release. There is no iOS or macOS version.
- Claude Code or Codex installed and signed in on the computer. Codex requires version 0.153.2 or later.
- Tailscale or an explicitly configured trusted LAN connection. Do not expose the companion to the public internet.
See Platform qualification for tested combinations. The coming-soon website is not an app release.
Connect the devices
- Install on the computer and run
ophio setup. - Install the Android app when a signed release is available.
- Pair the devices. Compare the six-digit codes and confirm at the computer.
- Run
ophio doctorto check agents, network reach and optional features.
Setup can resume unfinished steps. Desktop sharing remains off until you enable it.
Find your way around
The four main tabs are Talk, Control, Work and Library. An open Talk conversation hides the bottom tabs; Work in its header takes you back. Open Settings from a header’s settings button. Work groups Needs you, Running and Results; Library groups Agents, Skills and Files. See Getting around for the current layout.
Start with read-only work
Add a project, then open Talk and New task. Choose Ask to request an explanation of the project without changing its files. Plan is also read-only. Review the agent and project before starting.
Work permits coding changes. Skip permissions is on by default for new coding Work tasks. Native approval prompts are normally bypassed, and Codex also bypasses its command sandbox. Choose Ask for approval in Launch flags if you want those requests. Changing a default does not change a task already started. See Agents & task permissions.
