Library opens on Agents, with Skills and Files beside it. Agents and Skills list ways to start a task:
- Agents provide a personality or instructions.
- Skills provide job instructions from a
SKILL.mdfile. - Scratch pads start without additional launcher instructions.
They are task starting points, not additional running agent processes. The task still uses Claude Code or Codex.
Start from an entry
Open Library → Agents or Skills and tap an entry to open Review directly. Its About information button shows its description, defaults and file, with Start from this as another way to open Review. Edit the request, agent, mode, permissions and destination before starting. In Talk, Message tools → Start from opens the same list.
Scratch pad is the first Agents row and New agent is the last. Lists longer than eight entries have search. Files → Agent files is a separate collection for reading and editing instructions, not a launcher list; see Agent files.
Entries come from the computer’s Ophio agent folder, Claude Code user and project agents or skills, Codex and .agents skills, and built-in setup and GitHub skills. Project-specific entries appear only for the selected project. A project-specific launcher cannot start outside its own project.
The computer lists up to 500 entries and reads instruction files up to 64 KB. If an entry changes or disappears between selection and start, Ophio refuses the start. Select it again to review the current version.
Create an agent
Tap New agent, fill in Name and Description, then Make and write it. This creates a Markdown instruction file and opens Library for editing. It requires Library write access. It does not overwrite an existing name.
Review the instructions before using the agent. Creating or editing a file does not start a task or confirm that a running task reloaded it.
Choose where it runs
In review, a launcher that supports a one-off destination offers a project choice such as In garden-api and On its own. The project choice uses the actual selected project’s name.
On its own creates a fresh computer folder. It has no project branch choice. Find it under One-offs in the project selector. Open its folder shows what it made in Library. Make it a project registers that folder for future work. This requires Manage access permission.
Delete it…, in its settings or beside it under One-offs, removes a one-off in full once you confirm: it leaves your lists, its tasks are archived, and its folder and everything in it are deleted from the computer. It also requires Manage access, waits until nothing a task in it started is still running, and an agent’s task can’t do it. Ophio deletes only a real folder directly in the one-offs folder and never follows links inside it; if the folder has become a link or been moved, it refuses and keeps it.
Saved instructions
A task saves the chosen launch instructions. Continuations, retries and inherited Next up tasks retain them. When native agent-name selection is no longer reliable, Ophio can pass the saved instruction text instead.
For a skill, only SKILL.md is saved with the task. Supporting files are read from their current computer location. Changing those files can affect later use of the skill.
Open the task selector in Talk and choose Instructions to see the computer’s instruction-discovery evidence. That list is not proof that the agent read every file.
Setup skills and compatibility
Built-in setup skills help with Tailscale, phone installation, finding projects, desktop sharing, local speech, Telegram, Discord, accounts and readiness problems. They create ordinary one-off tasks using a standard approval policy, not the bypass default for ordinary coding Work. Review each proposed action. Signing in, entering secrets, pairing, grants, GitHub mode and enabling agent logins or Jev remain person-controlled choices. Find these skills in Library → Skills, marked Built into Øphio.
Launcher support requires a compatible companion. If the computer cannot retain the selected launcher, update it rather than starting without those instructions.
